Frequently asked questions

01. What information do you need to quote a shipment from China?

The destination country, city and postcode; the pickup city or the supplier address; the carton count with dimensions and gross weight; a description of the goods and their declared value; the date the goods are ready and the date you need them; and whether you want the quote on DDP, DDU or port-to-port terms. With those details the first reply can be a plan with dates rather than a list of further questions.

02. Do you quote door to door, or only port to port?

Both. Door-to-door with duty included is quoted as DDP, door-to-door with the consignee clearing the goods is quoted as DDU / DAP, and port-to-port or airport-to-airport rates are available where you have your own broker. Say which comparison you want to make, and the quotation is structured so that it can be set against another forwarder line by line.

03. How long does it take to receive a quotation?

Enquiries are answered in the order they arrive during Shenzhen working hours, and a complete enquiry usually needs no follow-up questions before it can be priced. If the booking has a fixed cut-off date, say so in the message so the rate is treated as time critical. Incomplete enquiries take longer, because we ask for the missing details rather than quote on an assumption.

04. Can you quote DDP and DDU on the same shipment?

Ask for a comparison of DDP and DAP delivery scopes. DDU is a legacy term. Confirm the eligible importer, broker, duties, taxes and excluded charges in writing. A trade term alone does not determine importer status or tax recovery eligibility.

05. Is there a minimum shipment size?

Minimum charges and service limits vary by carrier and route. Provide packed dimensions, gross weight, product details and destination. Compare complete parcel, air and ocean quotes rather than relying on a universal weight or volume threshold.

What happens after you request a quote

Rates are quoted per shipment because the price depends on the route, the weight and volume of the cargo, the transport mode and how quickly the goods need to move. Below is what we need and what you can expect back.

Information that speeds up your quote

        • Origin: the supplier city or warehouse in China
        • Destination: country, city and postcode
        • Cargo: description, package count, gross weight and dimensions
        • Service: air freight, ocean freight (FCL or LCL), Amazon FBA prep and delivery, DDP or DDU
        • Timing: preferred departure window, or the date the goods must arrive

        How long a quote takes

Quotes are normally returned within one working day. Air freight and express rates move with available capacity, so a quote confirms the price for the date or window stated on it — tell us if you need it held for longer. Ocean freight is quoted per container or per cubic metre and normally includes inland pickup within China.

        Questions we may ask

Depending on the cargo we may ask whether it contains batteries, magnets, liquids or branded items, because these change air acceptance and customs documentation. For Amazon sellers we also confirm the destination warehouse code, the label format, and whether you need preparation such as poly bagging or FNSKU labelling.

If you are unsure which service fits, describe the cargo and the deadline and we will recommend one option rather than quote every mode.
