Moving a full container from China to a US warehouse? LHD Logistics helps you plan the shipment around your cargo, receiving address and delivery requirements. Send your packing list and destination ZIP code to discuss an FCL DDP shipping option and a written quotation.
Start with the complete shipment: collection in China, ocean transport, import arrangements and delivery at the agreed US destination. Confirm what is included before you book.
A container shipping plan built around your delivery
FCL shipping can suit importers moving a dedicated container of inventory, multiple product lines or consolidated supplier orders. The choice depends on cargo volume, weight, loading requirements and the receiving site’s ability to handle delivery.
- Importers replenishing a US warehouse or distribution center.
- Wholesale shipments that need a dedicated container plan.
- E-commerce inventory moving in bulk before individual order fulfillment.

Cargo and lanes we handle on DDP
We work mainly with e-commerce sellers, Amazon FBA sellers and small importers moving goods from China to the United States and the United Kingdom. Typical cargo is palletised and carton freight, cross-border e-commerce inventory, Amazon FBA deliveries and bulk restocking moved by sea.
Ocean FCL and LCL shipments are arranged from Shenzhen, Yantian and Guangzhou; time-sensitive parcels can be reviewed for express carriage. Tell us the product type, the supplier city in China and the destination so we can confirm whether the goods can move on a DDP lane before you book.
What does DDP mean for your shipment?
Under Incoterms® 2020, DDP assigns import clearance and import duties to the seller. Delivery takes place at the named destination with the goods ready for unloading. The freight quotation must still identify the practical arrangements and scope.
Before booking, confirm the importer, customs broker, required authorizations, destination and unloading arrangement. Do not assume that appointing a freight forwarder makes it the importer of record.
Reference: ICC Academy explanation of DAP and DDP.
What should your FCL DDP quotation cover?
- Origin: collection address, supplier handover terms, loading and export handling.
- Main transport: container type, planned route, ocean freight and applicable surcharges.
- Import arrangements: product information, declared value, clearance responsibilities and the basis for duties and taxes.
- Destination: port handling, container movement and the named delivery address.
- Receiving: appointment requirements, unloading resources, access restrictions and waiting time.
- Exceptions: treatment of examinations, storage, demurrage, detention, redelivery and changes after quotation.
Ask which items are included, excluded or charged only if incurred. Quote validity and the information on which the price is based should be stated in writing.
Load planning before the container is sealed
An FCL booking is priced on the container, so the load plan decides whether that space is used well. Check the usable volume — roughly 28 cubic metres in a 20GP, 58 in a 40GP and 76 in a 40HQ — against the carton count and the stacking height your goods allow. Dense cargo reaches the road weight limit before the container is full, while light bulky cargo fills the volume first.
A verified gross mass must be submitted before the carrier cut-off, using a documented weighing method. Confirm who arranges loading, who seals the container and what record is kept, because that record is what supports a shortage or damage claim later.

Frequently asked questions
How much does FCL DDP shipping from China to the USA cost?
A usable price requires cargo and destination details. Container size, route, cargo characteristics, import arrangements and receiving requirements affect the quotation. Request a shipment-specific breakdown rather than relying on a generic container rate.
How long will the shipment take?
Ask for estimated collection, departure, arrival and delivery milestones separately. Sailing availability, port handling, customs release and delivery appointments can change the schedule. The quotation should explain what its transit estimate covers.
Can you deliver to an Amazon fulfillment center?
Send the assigned destination and current shipment requirements for review. Confirm preparation, labels, appointments and the delivery method before booking. See our Amazon FBA shipping page.
Should I choose FCL or LCL?
Compare total shipment cost and handling requirements for your actual cargo. If the container would be lightly loaded, request an LCL comparison. There is no single volume threshold that fits every route and delivery address.
